I've stayed at that Hampton Inn a few times...it's perfectly fine. There's another restaurant a little farther than ruby tuesday's called Joe's on Sullivan. It's pretty good, bar food kind of place.
I would avoid the airport Doubletree...stayed there once because it was by far the cheapest Hilton property at the airport, and I found out why. 'Nuf said.

Missed connection stuck at ATL airport
Need to suddenly stay in Atlanta tonight. Which Hilton property close to airport yields most points for a stay? Any suggestions in general? Could esp use the hotel shuttle service back to airport in morning. Thanks!

Atlanta airport hotels question
I am in same predicament tonight. Does anyone have feedback on Hilton garden inn atl airport v Hampton inn atl airport? Do both have bfast? Also, what time does bfast begin?
I'm literally on a delayed flight now, mid route, so can't call each hotel.
Thanks!

I usually call the status or booking line and ask which properties are near the airport, offer shuttle service and offer a "distressed traveler" rate. I've usually found these folks to be helpful (and if not, well, phones still encounter technical difficulties forcing a call drop followed by the necessity to call again... )

If you are Gold or Diamond, the HGI includes breakfast in its rates; othewrise it is usually $10~$14. Hamptons always include "breakfast" in some and breakfast in others (some are pretty decent, others include mysterious objects like UFO plasticized facsimiles of eggs). Weekdays, breakfast usually begins 0600 or 0630.
IMO the easiest thing to do in these instances is to call the main HH reservations number (or status line) and ask about nearby properties with shuttles, availability and offering "distressed traveler" rates (I like saving money and not all properties will require an airline give you a FT chit).

Doesn't sound like the OP is looking for a "distressed traveler" rate...must be a business trip.

Too low a rate can be very distressing when points is what you need.

While the ES in Buckhead may be nicer, you can walk to a million more things in midtown (at night too!) and the restaurant choices are much better. You also don't have to worry about which subway line you are on.
Wanted to thank everyone who posted for their input! I booked two nights at the Midtown HGI, as it had the best price -the Homewood next door wanted double their rate!

If I saw this thread a month earlier, I would have suggested Hilton Atlanta.
Low rate most of the time (don't know exactly when you are going though), nice exec. lounge open 24/7 (it is one of a kind lounge), walking distance to MARTA, Coca Cola and the Aquarium.

Thanks! I had seen a low rate for them, but wasn't sure about staying in that area? Next time, I'll surely consider it!

Weird Atlanta availability
Here is a weird thing happening with search.
I'm looking for hotels in Atlanta for one night, Jan 28. Nothing comes up other than some far away hampton inn's.
But if I try to search for 2 nights, Jan 27 and Jan 28, the properties become available.
Do they have a two night minimum? This is bs to me.
Take for example the Hilton ATL airport. Sometimes people might just need to spend the one night due to flight cancelations, etc.
Does anyone know any other areas in the US that has this practice?
